Enquiry Unit Analyst

This is an exciting role in a fast-moving team that provides an excellent entry point into foreign direct investment (FDI) promotion. The role is to act as a first point of contact for FDI enquiries from DIT’s global market network and its ‘Ready to Trade’ worldwide marketing campaigns.

The purpose of the role is to undertake an initial assessment of the FDI opportunity and allocate genuine investment opportunities to the most well-suited team in the Investment Services Team (IST) or DIT partner. You will use knowledge of FDI impacts and investor needs acquired on the job to seek out further information from the potential investor, or the DIT colleague to improve your understanding and ensure it is passed to the right delivery team. Additional to enquiry management, the role holder will be required to support the Unit lead in analysing and interpreting data from enquiries that will feed into IST leadership and client to support effective strategic decision making.

Key Responsibilities of the role

The post holder will have the opportunity to contribute to an evolving function to make use of better tools, improve direct investor and network engagement and innovate on the process of enquiry triage.

The post holder will:

  • assess distilled FDI enquiries
  • use knowledge of the DIT network to identify the right team to manage the enquiry
  • use knowledge of DIT systems and processes to revert back to Post to improve and refine the critical project information to allow effective allocation.
  • Ensure performance indicator (SPI) targets are complied with and met in all cases
  • Nurture relationship with DIT network stakeholders to ensure that key performance indicators are maintained or improved where possible.
  • Where necessary revert to the enquiry to seek more information on potential requirements to assess potential and next steps – in certain cases direct contact is preferred.
  • Allocate live opportunities (prospects) to relevant Post to pursue as appropriate.
  • Remain vigilant for possible high value enquiries and direct them to high value enquiry lead.
  • Work with colleagues to provide analysis and insight on enquiry performance.
  • Ensure all contractual obligations for individual enquiries are met.
  • Ongoing performance and trend analysis of low value projects.
  • Managing caseloads of low value projects
  • Supporting Network wide comms on handling low value projects
  • Dealing with investor queries in an effective and efficient manner keeping time served per investor to a minimum in keeping with the ERU pilot focus.
  • Recording time spent on each low value project interaction to feed into further analysis of the ERU pilot.

Key Targets include:

  • Achievement of yearly team project targets
  • Excellent customer feedback
  • Regular contribution to progress reports and monthly client meetings
  • Successfully meeting all SPI, KPI and other targets
