This a critical role within Finance as we work towards delivering Strategy 2026. Given the current financial climate, the need for timely access to appropriate and consistent management information in order to support decision making has never been greater. This is a challenging role which demands an ability to quickly grasp new ideas and concepts, and to develop innovative and creative solutions to problems in order to drive developments within Finance Department, wider Professional Services and academic Faculties.

It¿s time to look at the finance function through a new lens - aligned to PS Futures[1], this role will help gain insights into the operational effectiveness of existing finance processes to help drive greater efficiencies, leverage automation to meet transactional and reporting requirements, while improving cost and controls. The role will also include some financial reporting and planning responsibilities within the central Management Accounting Team. The Finance Directorate is responsible for c£630m of income and expenditure annually and a Balance Sheet with Net Assets of c£810m.

Reporting to the Head of Financial Reporting (HoFR), You will be a member of a recognised accounting professional body and will be an experienced and highly motivated individual with knowledge of working in a large complex organisation who is able to perform effectively under significant pressure, continuously working within tight deadlines and is expected to act independently with little direct supervision from their line manager.

The University has the right to close the vacancy early if it is deemed that there have been enough applications received
